To earn a Bachelor of Science in Internet Technology, students must meet the general university requirements for baccalaureate degrees and the specific requirements listed below.


Standard Track Requirements

General University Requirements (41 hours including World Cultures, General Education, Foreign Language, Health and Wellness, and Senior Seminar.) Note: The required courses Economics 102, Mathematics 134 or 211/221, Philosophy 231, Psychology 121 and the senior seminar (IT 490) may be used toward the 41 hours of general university requirements.

Computer Science and Information Technology Courses (33-34 hours) Either Information Technology 120 or Computer Science 101, Computer Science 210, 215, 290, 390, Information Technology 310, 320, 351*, 352*, 444* and 490.

Mathematics and Statistics Courses (9-11 hours) Either Mathematics 134 or 211/221, 370, and Quantitative Methods 227. (Psychology 245 or Sociology 344 may be substituted for Quantitative Methods 227 with the approval of the student's adviser.)

Other Disciplinary Courses (21 hours) Economics 102, Management 300, Marketing 325, 470, Mass Communication 485, Philosophy 231, and Psychology 121.

Technical Electives (6-8 hours) Two courses selected from Computer Science 350, 355, 381, 415, 430, Information Technology 499, Mathematics 212/222, Mass Communication 490 (Multimedia Applications), and Philosophy 447.

Free Electives ( 24 - 29 hours to equal a total of 124 hours) Students are encouraged to use these electives for courses that complement the Internet Technology degree.

Other Requirements Students must complete an Internship or Co-op experience and participate in a regular Proseminar


Intensive Track Requirements

Technical Electives (6-8 hours) Two courses selected from Computer Science 350, 355, 381, 415, 430, Information Technology 499, Mass Communication 490 (Multimedia Applications), and Philosophy 447.

Free Electives (19 -24 hours to equal a total of 124 hours) Students are encouraged to use these electives for courses that complement the Internet Technology degree.

Minor Requirements

Computer Science 210, 215, Information Technology 120, 310, 320, 351* and 352*. (Students may substitute Computer Science 475 for Information Technology 310, and Computer Science 440 for Information Technology 320.)

*Information Technology 351 and 352 are cross-listed with Mass Communication 351 and 352. Information Technology 444 is cross-listed with Philosophy 444. Students who have already taken these courses under their non-Information Technology numbers may not repeat the courses under their Information Technology numbers.
